The Role
The Firm is looking for an Engineering Director: AI to be a part of its world-class team. This role requires you to be a subject matter expert with proven leadership experience in areas including product building and hiring.
Key Responsibilities
Build, manage, and support diverse teams of software engineers and engineering managers
Drive the team's goals and technical direction to pursue opportunities that make your larger organisation more efficient
Effectively communicate complex features and systems in detail
Understand industry and company-wide trends to help assess and develop new technologies
Partner and collaborate with organisation leaders to help improve the level of performance of the team and the organisation
Suggest, collect, and synthesise requirements and create an effective feature roadmap
Develop highly scalable classifiers and tools leveraging machine learning, data regression, and rules-based models
Adapt standard machine learning methods to best exploit modern parallel environments (e.g. distributed clusters, multicore SMP, and GPU)
Exercise technical judgment, anticipate bottlenecks, bring them up effectively, make trade-offs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints
Work with your team and cross-functional partners to define and influence strategy
Drive roadmap creation and execution
Participate in technical design
Drive recruitment and hiring process
Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals
Key Requirements
BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field
At least 10 years of work experience as a director of engineering or in a similar senior-level position
Extensive experience with edge and embedded technologies GPUs, AI accelerators
Super leadership skills with a strategic mind, analytical and innovative
Be both highly technical and an effective people manager
Be a subject matter expert in an ML domain
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
