Our client, a premier cancer diagnostics and pharma services company serving oncologists, pathologists, pharmaceutical companies, academic centres and others with innovative diagnostic, prognostic and predicting testing, is seeking to fill the following open position.

The Role

The Incumbent shall perform work under little or no supervision and consistently and accurately performs either a greater number or more varied amount of complex or difficult tasks and assignments than the work performed by a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction to staff members

  • Participate in reviewing training checklists to reflect current laboratory procedures

  • Train staff in proper performance of both routine and complex procedures and/or instruments

  • Perform QC and calibrations with appropriate frequency and evaluates results for decision making; selects and evaluates control material and data using established criteria

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college or university preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the chemicals, physical, or biological sciences with the addition of at least 1 year of laboratory experience/training/training course

  • Six (6) or more years’ experience in (high complexity testing) preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of CAP/CLIA requirements and knowledgeable with the specialty requirements within those organizations

  • Strong communications and organizational skills with strong focus to be details oriented

  • Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards outlined in the safety manual

  • Good visual acuity including color perception required for certain departments
