The Role

The candidate will join the IT team as an IT Manager, managing a team of system engineers and covering 12 offices island-wide to provide overall IT support. The main responsibility is to develop and manage corporate IT standards, budgeting, forecasting, asset management, customer relationship management, and project management. This position is a key leadership role and will require experience in management, including involvement in review meetings, consultations, complex problem management, and providing leadership and direction to the high performance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the IT team and evaluate performance

    • Develop objective and KPI to each team member and evaluate on a regular basis

    • Facilitate best practices and knowledge sharing within the team

    • Generate suggestions and ideas

    • Promote friendly and effective working environment

  • Training and Support to the IT team

    • Customise training program and develop the career path for individuals

    • Provide leadership and direction to the high-performance team

  • Ensure SLA to customer

    • Monitor the SLA via ticketing system to ensure performance of the team

    • Involve in escalation to level 3, regional and HQ level

    • Continuous improvement

  • Project management

    • Develop and monitor a full project life cycle

    • Ensure projects are aligned to business strategy requirements and are completed on time and within budget

  • Procedure, Standards and Policy

    • Perform yearly assessment of the existing related documents and perform necessary changes or escalation to conclude the findings if any

    • Handle Security Incident according to defined protocol and workflow, evaluate risk and impact, escalate to higher level if required

    • Assist in promoting user awareness in security protection

  • Ensure IT Infrastructure availability and performance

    • Manage all IT infrastructure/systems according to company standards and aligned with standard practices

    • Define and implement backup, recovery, and emergency procedures

    • Take ownership of the IT infrastructure setup including offices and warehouse

    • Take ownership of the server room setup and operation

  • IT Budgeting

    • Responsible for IT related forecasting and budgeting for the financial year

    • Responsible for managing and monitoring the approved budget

  • Vendor Management

    • Good vendor management skill to gain benefit to the Company

  • Team Management

    • Ensure and monitor team compliance to the Company’s Code of Conduct and regulations

    • Ensure team understanding and implementation on the Company’s Values in daily work behaviors

    • Plan and monitor team performance including give coaching and counselling needed to deliver expected outcomes

    • Plan and monitor team development together with HR Division

    • Ensure updated Job Description availability for the team by coordinating with HR Division

    • Ensure all changes in Department / Section communicated properly to the team

  • QHSE

    • Participate in the set-up and follow-up of internal standard procedures to enhance productivity and transparency

    • Maintain acceptable Health, Safety and Environmental risk levels in his/her area of responsibility

    • Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements

Key Requirements

  • Degree in IT or equivalent

  • At least 10 years of work experience in IT with at least 4 years of management experience

  • Solid IT technical background

  • Experience working with Windows Server / HyperV / Active Directory / O365 environment is mandatory

  • Experience in Cisco networks / Aruba / Veeam back-up or equivalent is desired

  • Experience in Freight / Logistics would be an advantage

  • ITIL / MCSE / CISSP / PMP is good to have

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills

  • Result-orientated, excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Logical thinking and analytical mindset

  • Comfortable being based at either the East or West site; and will need to travel across all sites island-wide where required
