In the fast-paced, tech-driven world of today, the race for top talent is more competitive than ever. For both B2B and B2C businesses, the key is creating an employer brand that doesn’t just attract skilled professionals but also keeps them engaged and committed for the long haul.
The recent HR networking event in Taipei, organised by Cake Taiwan, brought together HR professionals and business leaders to discuss key strategies for talent management and employer branding. The participants represented 45 companies, with over two-thirds coming from the semiconductor and tech industries.
Held at Star Rocket Taipei, the event was filled with lively conversations and valuable insights into the evolving landscape of talent acquisition and retention.

日前於台北由Cake Taiwan策辦的人資交流活動,聚集各方人資專家與企業領袖,探討人才育、用、留及雇主品牌的關鍵策略。與會企業達45家,涵蓋各種產業領域,有超過三分之二來自半導體及科技產業。
活動選在台北的三創育成(Star Rocket)進行,會場內交互激盪著熱烈討論及珍貴洞見,聚焦不斷演變的人才延攬、留任的情勢。
DecodeHR’s Director, Evelyn Chow, emphasised the critical role of a compelling Employee Value Proposition (EVP). She explained that a strong EVP is a multifaceted approach encompassing key attributes that employees value.
This approach includes rewards, such as competitive compensation and benefits; opportunities for career advancement; and the organisation’s core qualities, including ethics, market position, and commitment to DEI. It also encompasses the people and work environment, the nature of the work itself, work-life balance and whether the job aligns with an individual’s interests.
Evelyn highlighted that these components collectively build a company's attractiveness to potential talent and help retain current employees.
She shared actionable tips on creating an inclusive and positive company culture that resonates with employees. Evelyn also highlighted the importance of a Total Rewards Strategy, which is a holistic approach that looks beyond competitive pay to an engaging environment where employees feel valued and motivated to contribute.

Vincent Lee, HRBP of Line, provided further insights into employer branding and shared some key principles of Line’s talent strategies. He stressed that understanding what truly matters to employees is the foundation of a compelling brand.
Bochen Liang, MediaTek’s Deputy Director of Global Talent Acquisition, shared tips to differentiate your employer brand in a highly competitive talent market. He emphasised the value of knowing your company’s strengths and limitations.
The event also featured a lively panel discussion, moderated by Wei-Cheng Hsieh, Chief Operating Officer of Cake. The speakers explored various topics, such as the challenges small and medium-sized enterprises face in attracting and retaining talent, strategies for building workplaces that inspire long-term loyalty, and the complexities of maintaining a consistent corporate culture while respecting cultural differences across countries.
Overall, the event provided useful insights and practical strategies to enhance talent management practices —valuable takeaways for navigating today’s dynamic workforce.
